Cleda M. Howard, 81, of Carmi, Illinois, formerly of Norris City, Illinois, died Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Carmi Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born May 31, 1942, in Enfield, Illinois, the daughter of Doyle E. Roser and Florence (Fechtig) Roser. She was married to Robert H. Howard on May 31, 1975, and he preceded her in death in 1984.
Cleda enjoyed playing piano, cooking, and playing bingo with her friends at Carmi Manor. She enjoyed going to church and bible study.
Survivors include son Paul (Melissa) Howard of Carmi, Illinois ; brother D. Wayne (Kay) Roser of Enfield, Illinois; sister Dorys (Ron) Little of McLeansboro, Illinois; grandsons Jacob Howard, Joshua (Morgan) Howard; Ethan Howard; nieces and nephews Nancy (Flint) Taylor, Darla (Mike) Grubb, Craig (B.J.) Little, and Dr. Tim (Angela) Roser.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation and funeral are Monday, November 6, 2023, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi, Illinois. Visitation is 10 am and funeral is at 12 noon. Burial is in North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi, Illinois.
