Clara Jo Hearring
1927-2024

Clara Jo Hearring, 96, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Saturday January 13, 2024 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital.

Clara Jo was born March 4, 1927 in Sperry, Oklahoma, the daughter of Meade G. and Josephine (Uhl) Bingman. She married Robert Edward Hearring on March 10, 1950 in Carmi, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on February 12, 2010.

Clara Jo was a lab tech at Richland Memorial Hospital for 29 years. She was also a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Olney. Clara Jo was a social person and was very active in the community and belonged to the women's social sorority, Xi Iota Lambda. Clara Jo enjoyed playing Bridge and socializing with friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bob. Clara Jo was an animal lover and loved her dogs, but above all else, she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she spoiled them. Clara Jo was a wonderful mother to her two sons and family. Her kindness and bright smile will be remembered fondly.

Clara Jo Hearring is survived by her sons, Sam (Karen Griffith) Hearring of Sesser, IL; Tom (Julie) Hearring of Olney; grandchildren, Jamia (John) Joyce, Katherine (Adrian) Stealey, Allyson (Angel) Padilla, and Brian (Elizabeth) Hearring; great grandchildren, Madelyn Dunn, Ella Eimer, Sean Joyce, Lily Stealey, Charlotte Stealey, Amelia Stealey, AJ Padilla, Bennett Padilla, Cruz Padilla, Nathan Hearring, Morgan Hearring, and Evelyn Hearring; and cousins, nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Bill Bingman.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.

A funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.

Interment will follow the service at Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Memorials can be made to Carle RMH Hospital Auxiliary for 3rd Floor Activity Fund, Shelter Friends, or the Olney Humane Society.
