Barbara Ann Sherrard, 80, of Carmi, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Wabash Senior Living in Carmi. She was born on April 5, 1944, in Mesa, Arizona, the daughter of Alvin F. and Roberta N. (Arrowsmith) Sherman. Barbara married Donald E. Sherrard on March 28, 1968, in Chandler, Arizona. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2017. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Barbara worked as a crossing guard in Mesa, Arizona. She loved sewing and quilting and doing genealogy.
Barbara is survived by her son, Chris Sherrard of Carmi, IL; a grandson, Andrew L. Sherrard; and siblings, Alvin Sherman of Utah and Louise Nye of Oklahoma. In addition to her husband Donald E. Sherrard, Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald E. Sherrard, Jr.; and a sister Donna M. Sherman.
Funeral services for Barbara Ann Sherrard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with a private burial at Marshall Ferry Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Donations may also be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
