The Wabash Valley College Student Senate is hosting a “Canned Food Drive” this month on campus, with clubs competing to see which club can bring in the most cans. Each participating club will have a member dressed as “Super Hero” at the basketball games on Thursday, December 1, to collect canned food items, as well as cash donations, from those coming to the game, all of which will go to the club’s total donation. All donations will go to WADI locally. The winning club will receive a prize from Student Senate.
To add to the competition, WVC has accepted a challenge from Lincoln Trail Student Senate to see which college can raise the most items in their respective food drives. A trophy is at stake, and the losing Student Senate will make a $100 cash donation to the winning college’s local food pantry. The WVC Student Senate is hoping to win the competition so they can add to their donation to WADI.
The public is encouraged to bring canned food items with them to the game to give to their favorite “Super Hero.”
