Wabash Valley College will be offering a Food Handlers class, RST 1601, taught by Lisa Shook, an approved FSSMC instructor, using a core curriculum provided by the Illinois Department of Health.
As of July 1, 2014, the State of Illinois now requires anyone working in the Food Service industry that does not have a Manager’s Certification to have a Food Handlers Certificate, which will be valid for 3 years. THIS IS NOT THE MANAGER’S CERTIFICATION.
The class will meet October 24 and 26 from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. in the Applied Arts Building Room 107.
The materials and exams are the same as being offered through ServSafe website. Wabash Valley College is offering this to anyone that would like to have the classroom experience of taking the exam and does not have Internet access.
The ServSafe booklet and exam sheet will be available for purchase for $15 from the instructor. This must be paid the first night. This is the only cost for the class.
Students will need to have an email address for ServSafe to contact you once the exam has been graded, and then you will be able to print your certificate.
