After the completion of scanning and editing of the WVC yearbooks, Commencement programs, archives, and 105 years of the MCHS yearbook, WVC Library staff have begun four new digital projects. Current projects include documenting the MCHS Boys’ Basketball Team’s journey to the State Finals, the WVC Baseball Team’s trip to the NJCAA World Series, WVC Men’s Basketball scorebooks and photos, and the Edwards County/West Salem High School yearbooks.
After completion, the digital projects will reside on the WVC Library homepage and be hosted on servers at the University of Illinois. All of the information will be available to anyone anywhere via the web.
The MCHS Basketball project will include memories of players, coaches, and staff of the exciting 2016-17 season which culminated in a State Final appearance, as well as photos and other memorabilia of the season.
Anyone who would like to contribute photos or programs from the Regionals, Sectionals, Super-Sectional, or the State Finals can call Sandy Craig at 618-263-5097 for more information.
The Edwards County High School Edwardian and the West Salem High School Hi-Lite yearbooks are also needed. We currently have 1944-1949 of the Hi-Lite and would welcome any others that may have been published. We need the following years of the Edwardian: 1952, 1954, 1955, 1956, 2016, and 2017 plus any earlier publications of the Albion High School yearbook. If you have copies of any missing years or earlier copies, please call Sandy Craig at 618-263-5097 for more information. Items loaned will be scanned and returned to their owners as quickly as possible.
