The Wabash Valley College Foundation Book Scholarship has been awarded to Michelle Hicks, Lori Graham, Chloe Benedict, Josh Wingert, C. Elise Thomason, and Darien Lee for the 2015-2016 academic year.
Annual awards of $100 are awarded to deserving students to help offset the cost of books for the Fall Semester. This scholarship is made available through a fund established by the Wabash Valley College Foundation.
Michelle Hicks, a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, is the daughter of Mark Dunkel of Mt. Carmel. She is a member of the Marketing Business Management Club, and her future career goal is to continue in the business world after completing her work at Wabash Valley College.
Josh Wingert, the son of Steve Wingert and Liel Wingert of Olney, IL, is a graduate of East Richland High School. He is also the recipient of a Freshman Scholarship, and a Fabick CAT Scholarship. Josh’s future career goal is to be a Lead Tech in a shop.
Lori Graham, a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, is the daughter of Marina Wilson and Jack Graham of Mt. Carmel. She is a member of the Student Nurses Association, Red Rage, Student Senate, and is the student representative for the District Nursing meetings. Lori’s future career goal is to attain a Master’s Degree in Nursing and work as a Trauma Nurse.
Chloe Benedict, the daughter of Ben and Lisa Benedict of Mt. Carmel, is a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School. Chloe is also the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship. Although she is
undecided about her transfer plans after WVC, her future career goal is to become an elementary teacher.
C. Elise Thomason, a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, is the daughter of Kim and Marshall Thomason of Mt. Carmel. Elise is also a recipient of a Transfer Scholarship for WVC. After completing her work at WVC, she plans to transfer to USI with a future career goal of becoming an elementary teacher.
Darien Lee, whose parents are Travis and Kimberly Lee of Bone Gap, IL, is a graduate of Edwards County High School. Darien is a member of the Student Nurses Association and the WVC Cheer Team. After completing her work at WVC, Darien plans to transfer to USI with a future career goal to be a RN, receive a BSN, and become a Nurse Practitioner.
