On April 11 the local McDonald’s restaurant located at 111 East Ninth Street in Mt. Carmel, IL invites guests to help raise money for Child Abuse Prevention Month Initiatives.
McDonald’s of Mt. Carmel, IL is partnering with the Wabash Valley College Social Services Club and The Guardian Center to raise awareness of Child Abuse Prevention. McDonald’s located in Mt. Carmel will donate 20% of all sales from 5-8p.m. on Wednesday, April 11 to the Guardian Center and WVC Social Services Club.
Students in the Wabash Valley College Social Services Club will use funds to attend the Downstate Conference on Child Abuse and hear experts discuss:
Screening for children who have been impacted by trauma, child abuse and its affect on the individual and families, recent research affecting child abuse investigations, the role of Advocacy in Assessing risk, and more.
The Guardian Center, Inc. is a not-for-profit child advocacy center that provides services to children and families affected by sexual and severe physical abuse.
