The White County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 9-1-1 call Monday about an unattended child at a residence in Crossville. Sheriff Maier and a deputy responded to the residence of Scott Baird, who told them he was unsure of who the child was that came to his house, but believed he lived nearby.
Attempts to gain access to the home believed to be the child’s was hampered by an aggressive dog. When contact with the home owner, Dawn Frick, was made, she confirmed that the child was hers, and had left the residence while everyone was asleep. The child was returned, but Sheriff Maier informed Frick that a report would be made to DCFS.
