61 year old David Strean of Carmi was arrested by the White County Sheriff’s Department on Monday morning after a warrant had been issued for his arrest. Carmi Police had executed a search warrant of Strean’s residence early Saturday morning, where they discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Strean was taken into custody outside the White County Courthouse and was later released from custody following a court appearance and posting a $7500 bond.
Tuesday night, Sheriff’s deputies arrested 56 year old John Hyatt and 53 year old Laura Petrides at their Springerton residence on domestic battery charges after being dispatched to a domestic disturbance. Both Hyatt and Petrides were transported to the White County Jail and were held without bond pending a court appearance. The Illinois State Police assisted in the investigation.
Wednesday morning, Pam Perry told Sheriff’s Deputies that sometime over night Tuesday, someone stole her purse from inside her James Avenue home while she was sleeping. Perry stated that she had cashed a money order earlier that day, and the purse contained $900 at the time of its theft.
