The White County Sheriff’s Department took a report of an attempted theft and damage to property at an oil lease in Maunie owned by R Energy on Saturday. According to the report, someone climbed the stairs of the well and removed the bolts from the rear, causing the weights to drop onto the electric motor causing damage. The suspect did not take the weights from the scene.
