The White County Sheriff’s Department made a pair of arrests Wednesday in Crossville.
At 8:44 am, Sheriff’s deputies went to a residence on 4th Street to speak to 36 year old Robert McGill about an auto accident that occurred in Carmi Tuesday. A records check showed that McGill was wanted on warrants for failure to appear in White County and possession of cannabis in Saline County. McGill was taken into custody and transported to the White County Jail. He was later released after posting bond.
At 8:05 pm Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Department received a tip that 18 year old Kaitlin Shelton was a passenger in a silver SUV that was driving around Crossville. White County deputies and Carmi Police stopped the vehicle and confirmed the passenger was Shelton, who then took off on foot. After a pursuit, Shelton was taken into custody on a White County warrant for failure to appear and a Wabash County warrant for failure to appear. An additional charge of resisting a police officer was added, and Shelton is being held at the White County Jail on a combined bond amount of $850.
