On Friday, 58 year old Darren McGuire of Carmi surrendered at the White County Sheriff’s Department on warrants from White and Madison Counties. McGuire was put into custody at 3:43 pm and is being held without bond on the Madison County charge pending a court hearing.
Sunday afternoon, Sheriff’s deputies took a report from Dawn Frick of Crossville that overnight, someone had shot a window of her home several times with a BB gun and had broken a gate on her property. Frick said that the damage had occurred around 1 am and that her children were asleep in the room the window was located.
Later on Sunday, the Sheriff’s Department and the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force served an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant on Karl Dean Holland at a residence on Sycamore Street in Carmi. Holland was taken into custody just before 4pm. During the arrest, officers found a number of drug items, and Holland was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Holland is being held at the White County Jail without bond pending a court hearing.
