Are you wondering why your White County farmland taxes are higher this year? Are you having trouble understanding the complicated formula used to calculate your farmland assessments?
The White County Farm Bureau, in cooperation with the Illinois Farm Bureau, is hosting an informational program, titled “Changes to the Farmland Assessment Law”. Brenda Matherly, Assistant Director of Local Government with the Illinois Farm Bureau, will discuss the recent changes to the farmland assessment formula, and explain how those changes have impacted your 2016 property tax bill.
The program will be held at the White County Farm Bureau office in Carmi on Monday, August 15 beginning at 7:00 p.m. There is no cost to attend. RSVP’s are requested. Please call the Farm Bureau office at 382-8512 and let us know if you will be attending.
