White County Christmas Schedule Announced

 

The Carmi Chamber of Commerce and the City of Carmi recently announced holiday plans including the White County Christmas schedule.

This past weekend, local retailers participated in an Open House, offering local shoppers a chance to get a headstart on their holiday shopping.

The Miss White County Christmas Pageant will be held this weekend at Carmi White County High School. The pageant will be held Saturday, Nov 17.

The local DAR chapter will host their annual Festival of Trees this year on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Washington Attendance Center. The Festival of Trees will be part of a Christmas Craft Fair set for that Saturday at the Washington Attendance Center.

The big day of celebration will be Saturday, Dec. 1. The day will include Emmanuel Church’s 28th annual Cookie Sale, running from 9 until noon. There will be a craft and vendor fair at the Floral Hall at the White County Fairgrounds. This is the annual Shop with a Cop Vendor Fair, which will raise money to help the local FOP provide shopping opportunities for children in need.

The White County Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting will the parade set to get underway at 5:30 that evening. The tree lighting will follow the parade and then Santa will make his first visit to Carmi and his local headquarters that evening. Santa will be available to visit with the children until about 9 that night.

A Christmas Story hour will be presented at the Carmi Library on Dec. 8, with times to be announced prior to Dec.8

The Lion’s Club’s annual Breakfast with Santa is set for 7 until 10, Saturday, Dec. 15th.
