Parade Entries Needed
It’s a White County Christmas will kick in to high gear Saturday, Dec. 1 with the annual Lighted Christmas parade and the arrival of Santa Claus.
The Carmi Chamber of Commerce has once again planned a lighted Christmas parade, and while there have been themes in the past, this year it is open to everyone’s holiday imagination. The parade will begin at 5:30.
Floats and walking units of all sizes are welcome to join in the fun.
One may enter the parade by filling out a parade application available at [email protected]. The entries need to be in by Monday, Nov. 26. Those sending in an application will receive information about the line-up and parade route .
Santa Claus will have a featured spot in the parade, as it will mark his official arrival. Santa will visit with the children at his Carmi headquarters following the parade until about 9.
The official lighting of the Carmi Christmas tree will also be held following the parade. The tree is located in Veteran’s park, across Main Street from the City Building.
