Weather Spotter Classes Announced

Weather Spotter Classes

 

Are you one of those folks that rush out in a thunderstorm to “check” on it’s strength.

Well you might want to take a weather spotter class offered by the National Weather Service at Paducah, Ky.  Spotter training classes are usually conducted in February and March throughout the Tri-state.

With that in mind, there will be a spotter class, at 6:30 Tuesday, Feb. 19 at the Mt. Vernon, lll.. Airport. Keith Hertenstein is the contact for that class and can be reached at 618-214-1072.

Another class will be offered at 6, Thursday, Feb. 21 at the Anna Fire Station. One may contact Scott Bennett at 618-833-2231 for additional information about the Anna class.

Spotter training will be offered at 6, Feb. 27 at a Fairfield location. The location has not been determined at this time. But Jeff Jake is the contact for the Fairfield spotter training.

In March, there will be a class at the Evansville Red Cross office. That class will be held at 6, Tuesday evening, march 12. Cliff Weaver is the contact for that training. He can be reached at 81-435-6020.

The classes are free of charge and are open to anyone who has an interest in severe weather or public service.

All materials will be provided and a certificate of completion will be presented to everyone completing the class.
