A California man was injured in a Thursday morning accident on Interstate 64 in Wayne County, according to Illinois State Police District 19.
Troopers responded to the accident at 8:40 am near mile post 89, where according to the preliminary crash report, 60 year old Allen Mizrahi of Fontana, California was travelling east in a 2009 International tractor-trailer when he ran off the road to the right. The semi struck a concrete culvert and a ditch before coming to rest, while the trailer became separated and overturned.
Mizrahi was transported to an area hospital by the Wayne City Ambulance service, and troopers were assisted at the scene by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Wayne City Rural Fire Department, IDOT, and Rick’s Towing.
Mizrahi was cited for improper lane usage, false log book, record of duty status, and driving while fatigued.
