Mt. Carmel ,IL- Nearly 150 Girls and Boys Basketball players will converge on the campus of Wabash Valley College this weekend for the annual Tri-State All-Star games.
On Saturday, April 22 there will be 5 Jr. High games. The Jr. High Girls play at 10:00 and 11:30 a.m., while the Jr. High Boys will play at 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00 p.m.
On Sunday, April 23 there will be 4 High School games. The High School Girls will play at 10:00 a.m., while the High School Boys will play at 11:30 a.m., 1:00 and 2:30 p.m.
Players were selected from Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. Justin Carpenter, of State Runner-Up Mt. Carmel High School, as well as players from Evansville, Hopkinsville, Indianapolis, East St. Louis, and several other schools will be participating.
The Tri-State All-Star Games have expanded from 2 High School Boys games in 2012, to now offering 9 games for Boys and Girls at the Jr. High and High School levels.
WVC Athletic Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Carpenter stated, “We’re pleased with the response the “All-Star Weekend” has generated and how quickly this event has grown. The quality of players we have coming to town this weekend should make for a great two days of basketball. A huge “thank-you” to Kevin List at Little Italy’s for helping to make this event a success.”
Admission for the All-Star games is $5.00 each day.
