Wabash Christian Village’s Auxiliary Chili Luncheon to benefit residents’ activities will be held Saturday, November 9th, 2019 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the First Christian Church, 504 Bohleber Drive, in Carmi. Ticket prices for the luncheon are $6 per adult and $3 per child, 12 and under. Beautiful themed baskets will be raffled off at the luncheon, though one needs not be present to win.
Activity Director Lora Carlson was a guest on WROY’s Open Line program and she talked about some of the baskets that will be raffled…
“We have a Coffee basket for those who love their coffee in the morning or whenever. We have a Therapeutic Massage basket which was donated by Therapeutic Massage of Carmi. We have a Weekend Project basket, Snacks, Baking, Family Game Night, Movie Night. There’s an Inspirational basket that has some Christian themed information in there. We have a big, huge Family Pet basket with a great big pet bed filled with all kinds of lovely things you might want for your animals. Holiday. There’s a really nice Craftsman tool box with wheels and a little handle you can tote it around. It’s full of all kinds of great things guys might like to have. Car Care and one of my favorites this year and I think a lot of other people’s favorites is the Money Tree. We have a $200 Money Tree that you can put your ticket right into if you’d like to try to win that basket.”
Raffle ticket prices are 1 for $1.00 or 6 tickets for $5.00. Tickets may be purchased at the door, at Wabash Christian Village, from one of our auxiliary members or from members of our activities team.
Lora talked about what guests can expect at the chili luncheon and what will be served…
“It’s $6 for adults or $3 for kids, 12 and under. For that you can get a bowl of chili. You can get hot dogs, chips, cheese, crackers. We’re going to have a whole bunch of homemade pies and drinks. You can get it and it eat it there or you can take it to go. Come with your family or go sit on the couch and watch t.v. and eat together or you can sit around and listen to some good music. We have the New Life Singers. They’re going to be there performing. Visit with your friends. Enter to win those baskets. You can stick around and watch them be given out if you’d like.”
