Wabash Christian Retirement Center (WCRC) wishes to invite the public to an upcoming Open House to celebrate the completion of the Amazing Grace Campaign. The event will be Tuesday, May 24 from 5 to 6pm just prior to the WCRC Spring Revival in the gazebo that evening.
Through the Amazing Grace Campaign, WCRC was blessed to receive over $61,000 from churches and other generous supporters of our ministry for renovations to residents’ rooms. The gifts will go toward updating 16 rooms making them more home-like and comfortable for residents. Each of the rooms will receive a new electric bed, clothing dresser, bed stand and recliner.
Each year volunteers contribute over 70,000 hours to Christian Homes. This is equal to over $500,000.00 of annual donated services. Thirty such local volunteers moved out the 28 old beds, assembled new beds, and placed them in resident rooms. Fifteen of those helping were members of the Carmi First Christian Church as part of their Love Carmi Project. The old beds, walkers and wheelchairs were donated to FAME, Fellowship of Associates of Medical Evangelism who will be shipping the equipment to Africa and/or Haiti for use in third world medical centers.
The Open House will give everyone an opportunity to see what their contributions and volunteer hours have provided for the WCRC residents.
