Wabash Christian Food Drive
September is Hunger Action Month and with that in mind, once again this year, Wabash Christian Village will host a food drive, beginning today (Friday) and run through September 21.
The drive will benefit the New Beginning Church of God’s Hands of Compassion hot meal program and Cherry Street General Baptist Church’s Food Pantry.
Pastor Michael LeBuhn of the New Beginning Church and Lora Carlson of Wabash Christian Village were guest on WROY”S Open Line program Thursday morning detailing the project and it’s need.
Carlson, the activity director for Wabash Christian Village said all types of food and other items are needed and explained where to deliver your contributions, pointing out the contributions will be accepted at any of the Wabash Christian Center’s facilities. All types of food stuff will be accepted.
There is a surprising need for the contributions as locally the programs serve about 1,200 people monthly.
