Two individuals were sentenced to Illinois Department of Correction custody on Monday in White County Circuit Court according to States Attorney Denton Aud.
37 year old Tonya Moss of Norris City was sentenced to eight years on a charge of criminal sexual abuse. Moss must serve 85% of the sentence, and will be under mandatory supervised release for a period of three years to the end of her natural life, and was also ordered to pay court costs. The case was investigated by the Illinois State Police.
36 year old Josiah Stover of Crossville was sentenced to four years on a charge of aggravated battery and four years on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. The two sentences will run concurrently, and Stover will be under mandatory supervised release for one year. He was also ordered to pay court costs. The cases against Stover were investigated by the White County Sheriff’s Office and the Carmi Police Department.
Both Moss and Stover were represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle and both cases were heard by Judge T Scott Webb.
