Two Sentenced in Edwards County Court
A Crossville man and a Tennessee woman were sentenced to prison in two separate cases late last week in Edwards County Circuit Court.
Larry D. Myers, 56 of Crossville was sentenced to a total of four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections to be followed by a two year term of mandatory supervised release (parole).
Myer’s who was also sentenced to prison in White County last week, had entered a guilty plea to a charge of aggravated driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The Honorable Judge Michael Valentine was the presiding judge. Edwards County State’s Attorney Eric A. St. Ledger prosecuted the case, while public defender Jay Walden represented Myers. The case was investigated by the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department.
In an unrelated case, 39 year old Sandra M. Gonzales of Afton, Tennessee was sentenced to six years in prison on a charge of fleeing and eluding a peace officer in a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and burglary. Gonzales will also serve two years of mandatory supervised release.
Valentine was the presiding judge, St. Ledger prosecuted the case and Brian Shinkle represented Gonzalez.
The case was investigated by the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department with assistance from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and Illinois State Police.
