Two men sentenced in White County Court on Monday

In White County Court on Monday, two men were sentenced to Illinois Department of Corrections custody according to States Attorney Denton Aud.

47 year old Gregory B O’Neal of Maunie received a five year prison sentence on a charge of burglary and another five year sentence on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.  The two sentences will run concurrently.  O’Neal had previously been sentenced to Drug Court probation on the two charges, but that was revoked by Judge T Scott Webb after testimony from three witnesses called by defense attorney Brian Shinkle.

Following incarceration, O’Neal will be under mandatory supervised release for two years, and was ordered to pay all court costs, fines, fees, and assessments.  The White County Sheriff’s Department investigated both cases.

40 year old Nathan P Mitchell of Grayville was sentenced to two years in prison and one year of mandatory supervised release on a charge of aggravated DUI.  Mitchell was also ordered to pay all mandatory fines, fees, costs, and assessments.

Mitchell was arrested by Sheriff Doug Maier in Colony West on Memorial Day.
