This weekend, citizen tips led to the capture of the two remaining White County Jail escapees.
Friday night, Zachary Shock was arrested by Illinois State Police after a man matching his description was seen walking along a rural road in Gallatin County. Troopers and a Gallatin County deputy responded to the area and arrested Shock without incident. Shock was carrying a loaded handgun at the time of his arrest, but advised officers of the gun and did not attempt to pull out the weapon or run or resist.
Shock was returned to the White County Jail and is being held on a $350,000 bond.
Saturday night, a tip led the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department to a camper outside a residence in Cave in Rock where they took Johnny Tipton into custody. Tipton was also arrested without incident, and was transported back to the White County Jail, where he is being held on a $100,000 bond.
