Two Carmi women were injured in a crash in Edwards County on Tuesday night according to Illinois State Police District 19.
According to the preliminary crash report, 33 year old Pricilla Sears was driving south on Route 1 just off of Route 130 when she became distracted by a juvenile passenger in the backseat. Sear’s vehicle then crossed the center line at 11:46 pm and sideswiped a semi trailer driven by 58 year old Kenneth Sams of Molena, Georgia.
Sears and a passenger, 33 year old Heather Bond of Carmi, were transported to an area hospital by ambulance. The juvenile passenger was not injured. Sears was cited for improper lane usage.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Little Wabash Fire Department, Edwards County Ambulance Service, Wabash General Ambulance Service, and Rick’s Towing.
