Two Mt. Carmel residents were found dead in their home on Wednesday, according to the Mt. Carmel Police Department.
Authorities announced that a 55 year old man and 62 year old woman were found in the residence in the 900 block of West Third Street early in the afternoon. Both lived at the home. Investigators have ruled out carbon monoxide poisoning, but have said that the deaths are still be investigated. Autopsies have been scheduled for this afternoon.
Names of the deceased have not been released pending notification of family members. The scene is being investigated by the Mt. Carmel Police, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation agents, and the Wabash County Coroner’s Office.
