Trick or treat
This will be a big weekend at Burrell Woods as the annual Halloween Camp out will be held.
Camping sites for the observance will offered through a lottery earlier this month, but the public is invited to the movie; Spooky Buddies, to be shown tonight at 7 near the shower house. Those planning to attend the movie, are reminded to bring a lawn chair.
City wide trick or treating is set for Halloween. Carmi Mayor Jeff Pollard reminded local residents of the trick or treating hours, pointing out that they will be from 4 until 8. He reminded folks to turn on their porch lights if they want trick or treaters and trick or treaters were reminded not to stop at homes unless the porch light is on.
There will be a trunk or treat event that evening beginning at 5:30, in the parking lot behind the City Building. The Carmi Fire Department will be participating in the Trunk or Treat event and will have a fire truck on display. The fire station will be closed during that time.
Anyone wishing to participate in the trunk or treat event by offering treats should contact Lauren Higginson at the Carmi Chamber of Commerce at 382-7606.
The Village of Crossville will host a trunk or treat from 4 until 6 Wednesday, Halloween.
Stewart Street Baptist Church, at 905 Stewart Street, Carmi will also offer a trunk or treat event from 4:30 until 6:30 Halloween evening.
