Tough Night for Bulldog Wrestlers
Coach Terry Gholson’s Bulldog wrestling team dropped a 42-30 decision at Pinckneyville last Thursday.
Of the 14 weight classes, only five were contested.
Carmi heavyweight Jake Rider pinned his opponent in 2 minutes, 43 seconds. Picking up victories by forfeit for the ‘Dogs were Kit Harris at 145, Blake Pollard at 152, Cody Nausley at 170 and Matthew Woods at 220.
Gholson’s team will travel to Mt. Carmel this evening, then host a 14-team tournament Saturday, featuring squads from Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky.
