Hamilton County States Attorney Justin Hood has announced that three sentences were handed down in Hamilton County Court today.
36 year old Robert Veach of Carmi plead guilty to one count of unlawful restraint, and received a four year sentence in Department of Corrections custody with one year of mandatory supervised release. The sentence will run concurrent with Veach’s sentence imposed earlier in the week in White County for a probation violation.
34 year old Richard Rogers of McLeansboro received a seven year sentence after pleading guilty to on count of residential burglary. Rogers was arrested by McLeansboro Police on April 4 after witnesses saw Rogers break into a home and was moving furniture out of the home while the homeowner was away. Rogers will be under supervised release for two years following incarceration.
39 year old Timothy Trotter was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to a probation violation. Trotter was charged with, and plead guilty to criminal sexual assault of a minor in 2010, but failed to complete sex offender treatment. Trotter will be under supervised release for two years after his sentence is complete.
