Three individuals were sentenced in White County Court on Wednesday according to States Attorney Denton Aud.
25 year old Kyle Buchanan of Carmi received a four year prison term on a charge of burglary, but was found to be guilty but mentally ill. The charge came after Carmi Police arrested Buchanan on July 8th after a break in at the CVS Pharmacy.
23 year old Anna Grant of Carmi was sentenced to three years in prison on a charge of aggravated battery. Grant had received probation for the offence in 2015, but violated that by failing to report, failing to complete counseling, using illegal drugs, and being arrested for theft.
33 year old Tiffany Weidenburner of Carmi was sentenced to three years in prison on a charge of forgery and two and a half years on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. The two sentences will run concurrently. Weidenburner had been on probation for the forgery charge, which was revoked after her arrest last week by Carmi Police on the drug charge.
Public Defender Brian Shinkle represented all three defendants and Judge T. Scott Webb presided over all three cases.
