Three Carmi residents were sentenced to prison terms on Wednesday in White County Court according to States Attorney Denton Aud.
42 year old Dawn Brennan was sentenced to one year in Department of Corrections custody on one count of Unlawful Violation of an Order of Protection following her arrest by the Carmi Police Department. Brennan will be under four years of mandatory supervised release following incarceration and was also ordered to pay all fines, fees, costs, and assessments.
20 year old Dakota Goodwin received a four year prison term following his conviction on a charge of domestic battery. Goodwin was arrested by the White County Sheriff’s Department on the charge. Goodwin will also be under court supervision for four years following incarceration and was ordered to pay all fines, fees, costs, and assessments.
22 year old Joshua Nix was convicted on a charge of possession of a converted vehicle and was sentenced to four years in prison followed by two years of mandatory supervised release. Nix was charged with the felony by Carmi Police and in addition to being ordered to pay fines, fees, costs, and assessments, was also ordered to pay restitution to his victims.
Both Goodwin and Nix were recommended as part of their sentencing to participate in the Impact Incarceration Program, also known as boot camp.
