Three sentenced in Hamilton County Court on Thursday

In Hamilton County Court Thursday, three individuals received sentences in the Illinois Department of Corrections, according to States Attorney Justin Hood.

33 year old Brian L Dennis of McLeansboro pled guilty to a charge of Aggravated DUI and to a probation violation on an earlier conviction of intimidation from 2015.  Both charges resulted in a two year sentence with one year of mandatory supervised release.  The two sentences will run concurrently.

38 year old April Santiago entered a guilty plea to a charge of aggravated battery and received a four and a half year sentence with one year of mandatory supervised release.  Santiago was accused of hitting a victim in the head with a wooden stool on July 25, 2016.  She was re-arrested in Mt. Carmel on February 11.

24 year old Jonathan Trout of Olney was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to a probation violation on a charge of failure to notify change of address as a sex offender.   Trout also received four years on an identical charge in Saline County, and the two sentences will run concurrently.  Trout will also be under court supervision for one year following incarceration.
