State Police Patrols Net 13
Illinois state police conducted occupant restraint enforcement patrols in Wabash and Edwards Counties this month, and recently announced the results of the patrol.
Thirteen drivers were cited for safety belt citations and thirteen written warnings were also issued.
Most motorists know safety belts save lives, but some ignore their safety and that of their families by neglecting to use seatbelts and child restraint devices. The patrols reinforce the occupant protection message by focusing on those who ignor the law. Lives can be saved if people simply buckle up. This project is funded through the Illinois department of transportation.
