Election Petitions Filed
Spring elections will be held Tuesday, April 2 as school board and city aldermen will be elected.
Monday was the last day to file petitions declaring intents to run for office in the April elections.
Here in Carmi, Aldermen Jeremy Courson filed for Ward One; Mike Knight filed and has no opposition in Ward Two; Mark Blake is unopposed in Ward Three. Jim Totten filed for Ward Four. Keith Davis had picked up, but as of Monday morning had not filed his petition in Ward Four. That seat was formally held by Lance Yearby, who said earlier this year, he would not seek re-election due to other obligations.
There will also be school board elections on April 2.
Tom Scates, Barbara Mitchell, Brent Hammell and Andy Accord were all up for election in the Carmi White County School district. Monday morning, all had filed except Accord. It should be pointed out that the actual deadline to file was at the close of business Monday afternoon. Also filing for the Carmi White County School Board was Mathew McCarty.
Filing in the Grayville District were David Kleinschmidt, Mark B. Campbell, David Hall and Stephanie Hatcher.
Lincoln Hobbs and Paul Black filed for the Norris City Omaha Enfield School Board.
