Special County Board Meeting
The White County Board hinted at its regular meeting held earlier this month a special meeting might be called prior to the end of the year to deal with a request from the White County Ambulance Service.
Well, the board decided a special meeting was required to not only address the ambulance issue, but a couple of other items as well. The ambulance issue will consider whether the service would run one full time pay 24 hour ambulance. According to Ambulance service director Adam Allen that would allow the ambulance service to hire full time paramedics. That could mean the ambulance service could resume advanced life support service instead of the basic service, where it now is.
Other matters, include a couple items relating to newly elected County Clerk Beth Sell. That includes approval of Sell as the IMRF agent and county recorder.
A commercial package and cyber liability for the county insurance will also be presented to the board.
The first county board meeting of January will be on the 8th, the second Tuesday of the month, the normal meeting date for the White County Board. The meetings start at 7 p.m., including this week’s special meeting and are held in the upstairs courtroom of the White County courthouse, here in Carmi.
