Snow Overnight
Carmi and White County residents are waking up to a light covering of snow this morning, but fortunately for the most part, area roads are clear and passable.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory overnight through midnight this morning, but that has expired and the forecast is only calling for snow showers this morning, with very little additional accumulation expected.
And while roads are clear, area motorists are reminded there could be some slick spots on the roadways. Be mindful of bridges and overpasses as they freeze first and leave plenty of distance between you and the vehicles in front of you.
Also be cautious as you pull up to intersections as morning traffic could make those areas slick and hazardous. Again, leave plenty of room between your vehicle and others and slow down prior to coming upon an intersection.
Local law enforcement agencies will confirm the key to driving in hazardous conditions, all be it, snow, rain or other conditions; is to SLOW DOWN.
