During a reception to honor the Southeastern Illinois College Falcon Archers on Oct. 26, a surprise was in store for the champion women’s team. On behalf of the Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus (ILSC), Rep. Brandon Phelps was in attendance to present the 2016 Division I National Championship First Place Trophy to the SIC Women’s 3D Bow Hunter Team of (l-r) Alli Armstrong (Elizabethtown), Jessica Morris (Golconda), Kira McCalip (Rantoul) and coach Archie Blair. Phelps also presented the team with a $500 contribution from the Sportsmen’s Caucus in support of the team’s annual community service project to help students in-need succeed at SIC. Phelps serves as co-chairman of the ILSC.
