Friday morning, Stanley Poshard reported to the White County Sheriff’s Department that a box of tools and two chain saws were stolen from a shed on his property. The burglary occurred after 8 pm Thursday and Poshard was able to provide deputies with a suspect.
26 year old Daniel Desper of Carmi was arrested by the White County Sheriff’s Department Friday afternoon following a traffic stop on a charge of driving on a revoked license. Desper was pulled over just after 4 pm on Sycamore Street and was taken into custody. A search of his vehicle turned up a glass smoking pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine, and it was found that he was wanted on a Jackson County warrant. Desper is being held at the White County Jail without bond pending a court hearing.
