The White County Sheriff’s Department took a report of a slashed tire in Norris City on Saturday morning. Donald Rumsey told deputies that sometime overnight, someone slashed the rear driver’s side tire on his pickup at his residence on North East Street.
Later Saturday morning, Sheriff’s deputies received a report of a barbed wire fence on County Road 1935 E in Crossville that had been cut in five places, allowing horses in the pasture to get out. The fence is owned by Kenneth Wargel.
Sheriff’s Deputies questioned three women about an early morning crash on Highway 1 that left two injured. At 3:38 am, another driver contacted dispatch about a car off the road a half mile south of County Road 1200 N. The White County Ambulance service treated them at the scene, but all three women stated that the driver had fled on foot from the scene on foot due to having active warrants. Cherry Street Automotive removed the vehicle from the scene.
