Several Weekend Accidents Reported
Adding to a very busy weekend for the Carmi Police Department were several minor traffic accidents, beginning shortly before noon Friday, when a minor collision occurred on Fairgrounds Road.
That accident occurred when Cody B. Inabnit of rural Norris City struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Patricia K. Drone of Ridgway. An ambulance was called to the scene, but all involved in the accident refused treatment.
Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
Another rear-end collision occurred around 9 Sundaymorning, when Lindsay J. West of Vandalia, Ill., backed up and struck a vehicle driven by Ashley D. Taylor of Carmi. West admitted the accident was her fault and both were able to drive away from the crash. However, West was cited for an insurance violation.
A third crash occurred shortly after 1, Sunday, when janet S. Churchwell, Carmi, turned onto stewart Street from Eighth and struck a vehicle driven by Ronald E. Foley, also of Carmi.
S & E Towing of Carmi was called to the scene, but it was determined both vehicles were able to drive away from the crash, although damage was estimated at over $1500. No one was injured in any of the crashes.
