An early morning accident on Interstate 64 near the Burnt Prairie exit sent the driver of a semi truck to the hospital and has blocked one eastbound lane.
According to a crash report from the Illinois State Police, 48 year old Theodore Riester of Washington, Indiana was travelling east on I-64, when at about 2:45am, left the roadway and overturned. The semi was pulling a tank of carbon dioxide, which did not leak in the accident.
Riester was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL by the Wayne County Ambulance Service. The right hand lane of the interstate will open once the truck and trailer are up-righted and towed from the scene.
