Search Continues for Wendell Williams

A facebook page, now with nearly 600 members remains the sole official effort into findng a missing Harrisburg man.  Law enforcement, most notably the Illinois State Police who were not only involved but headed up the search for missing Brooke Naylor less than a year ago remain silent in the effort to locate 64 year old Wendell Williams.

Hundreds of individuals continue to canvas the region to search fields, bottoms, rivers and have yet to locate Williams or the black Jeep Cherokee he was said to have been driving when he left his home Saturday morning around 9am.  Within the hour prior to Williams leaving his home, he told his son Adam, whom WROY/WRUL News has been in regular contact with, of his intention to “go somewhere nobody would be able to find him and intentionally harm himself”.

Horseback riders, folks on ATVs, manned drones and even local pilots have lent their services in the growing civilian effort to locate the Saline County man.  Searchers continue to focus on an area from Carmi south to Cave-in-Rock…now into western Kentucky and southwestern Indiana and west to Marion.

Williams cellphone was last pinged on Saturday from a cellphone tower just more than 11 miles northeast of Omaha.  The black Jeep Cherokee Williams was driving carries the license plate V as in victor followed by the numbers 126 701.  If you see Williams, you’re urged to contact local law enforcement immediately.  The facebook page you can visit for hourly updates is Help Find Wendell Williams!
