Saline County Road Checks
Illinois State Police at the District 19 headquarters recently announced the results of Roadside Safety Checks conducted in Saline County from late Saturday night to the early morning of Sunday. The checks were conducted at the intersection of Route 145 and Route 34.
There were no DUI arrest made, but there was one alcohol/drug citation issued, along with one seatbelt violation
There were four registration offenses and four driver’s license offenses, along with one insurance violation.
That was a total of nine citations and there were 16 written warnings issued.
Alcohol and drug impairment is a factor in more than 30 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois and throughout the United States, nearly 10,000 people die each year due to alcohol impaired drivers. The Roadside Safety checks are designed to keep roads safe by taking dangerous drivers off the road.
