S3DA Scholarship Tournament

 

Illinois S3DA hosted its 1st Annual Scholarship 3D Tournament  Sunday June 2,2019 the event was held at NCOE High School located in Norris City, IL. The School is located on 35 acres, Surrounded by mature pine trees on 25 acres of the property. This event could not happen if it had not been for the Coaches of NCOE, Josh Wyatt, Scott Fiala and White County Archey Coach and Regional Coordinator Mike Westfall and Hamilton Co. Coaches Mike Davenport and Chris Scott. Also a big shout out to the Kids of NCOE, Ethan Wyatt, Jerzi Sharp, Zeppelyn Fiala, Jalyn Sharp, Morgan Pearce, Kinsey Woodrow, Sean Neal, Riley Pearce, Zane Fiala, Tate Bickett for lending a hand for setup and cleanup of this event. Also Kevin Clark from White Co. Archery and Carter Clark, Jonathon Huff, Myles Barnett, Christine Lasater. Also Drake Barnett from Carmi White Co.

Would also like to thank Lei Anne Westfall, Kendra Fiala, Erica Lasater, Jennifer Huff, Tiffany Bickett for helping setup and running the concession.I would also like to thank my lovely wife Sheri Sharp for helping me do anything and everything I ask her to do she doesn’t get enough credit thank You!!!

We also want to thank ASA, South Eastern Illinois College, Wabash Bowhunters and White Co. Archery for their generous contribution with certificates!!! Along with Mimmos Pizza from Norris City for the pizza oven!!!

We had 46 shooters participate in the event and had a special S3DA guest Alumni and NonPro Brady Hempen show up and shoot he said he loved the course and would be back and was glad he could help.

 

The Funds raised for this event will help next years Senior Scholarship Program, We are planning on having Indoor Scholarship tournaments this coming year across the state with the hopes of helping several kids with scholarships in 2020. To be eligible for a scholarship you must participate in a 3D or Indoor Scholarship Tournament, and complete an essay that will be sent out to all of Illinois S3DA Senior Class some time in March or April of 2020 the Awards will be given away at Illinois 2020 3D State Tournament.

Illinois S3DA State Coordinator Jim Sharp was very happy with the turn of the 1st Annual Scholarship Shoot, And looking forward to our next Scholarship Tournament this winter. He also said that everyone was very excited that Illinois has stepped up and is offering scholarships within the state. Jim Sharp said he would love to see this help as many kids as possible with financial help. And with raising an amazing $900 this was a great start.

 

Illinois S3DA also had a long shot challenge for everyone to enjoy elementary shot 30yds, Middle School Shot 50yds and High School and adults shot 100yds with the winner taking home 50% of the funds raised, The lucky winner was Myles Barnett from White County Archery.

 

Illinois S3DA was also out trying to pickup a future S3DA shooter with this little guy Adler Hubbs!!!!! He was able to come out with his Mom, Dad, Big Sister and Brother as a family and enjoy the day!!
