A couple of robbery suspects, 34 year old Timothy Smith and 31 year old Brittni Smith are behind bars in the White County Jail following their arrest early Monday morning, December 16th, by Grayville Police.
Police were notified that an armed robbery occurred at Huck’s Convenience store at 522 North Court Street in Grayville. Police were advised a white male had entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the cashier on duty. The suspect then fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
About 10 minutes later Timothy and Brittni Smith were located behind the Super 8 Motel and were taken into custody. During the investigation, it was determined the pair were wanted on Armed Robbery charges in Wise County Tennessee and Adair County Kentucky. They were also in possession of a stolen vehicle from Vanderburgh County, Indiana.
They were taken to the White County Jail and are facing charges in Edwards and White Counties. Units from Grayville, the White County Sheriff’s Office, Edwards County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police participated in the investigation and arrests.
