Managers, supervisors, and team leaders are invited to attend a professional development Leadership Workshop at Rend Lake College next month to learn about creating and sustaining an enjoyable work environment.
The workshop, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19, is designed for those who have moved into leadership roles; team leaders responsible for growth, development, and performance of others; and anyone who wants to expand personal career choices and step into a leadership role.
Presenter Sharon Tick will provide a lightning-paced, high-energy training to give attendees techniques to charge their leadership skills and get employees on track for higher levels of performance. With her 20 years of professional experience in sales, management, insurance, team building, and administration, Tick will teach professionals how to support an environment of creativity, innovation, and passion – regardless of where they work.
Tick outlined several objectives for her presentation, including strengthening morale, keeping employees satisfied, inspiring employees to reach and exceed their potential, and eliminating negativity and poor attitudes in a team.
Specifically, she will focus on ways to identify what people need from their leaders and how exactly to meet those needs. Emphasis will also be on exploring new ways to tap into personal strengths and minimize weakness, developing a unique leadership style, and discovering new ideas for motivating individuals to perform.
The workshop will be held in the RLC Theatre on the Ina campus with registration beginning at 8 a.m. Pre-registration is due by Friday, May 13. RLC is sponsoring the workshop.
To register or for more information, contact RLC’s Community and Corporate Education Division at 618-437-5321, Ext. 1714 or[email protected] . The workshop costs $75 per person.
