There could be a Rend Lake College Summer Kids Camp right in your backyard. Strike A Pose in Mt. Vernon, Outdoor Adventure! in Benton, and Seussapalooza in Pinckneyville invite students out for some added fun during the month of June.
In Mt. Vernon, first through seventh graders are invited to Strike A Pose with the Studio RLC Style Team from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Thursday, June 9 at Studio RLC in Mt. Vernon. During camp, students will learn the latest fashions and trends in basic skin care, make-up, nail care, hair styles, poise, and etiquette. At the end of the day, campers will strut their stuff on a runway walk.
The camp costs $35 and includes lunch. Each camper should bring their favorite outfit for the walk and parents and guardians should arrive early to see the show.
Enjoy a week outside at Lake Benton and Camp Manitowa for Outdoor Adventure! First through sixth graders will experience all the fun of an overnight camp during the day with activities such as a challenge course, zip line, a team building trail, arts and crafts, kayaking, fishing, and hiking.
The camp will meet from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday, June 13 – Thursday, June 16, and costs $155 per camper. Students should bring a sack lunch, drinks, sunscreen, insect repellant, and swimming attire each day. After-camp supervision is available at $5 per hour, paid directly to Camp Manitowa. Siblings may attend for a discounted rate of $100.
In Pinckneyville, first through third grade students can join Seussapalooza to become experts on the man who invented everyone’s favorite cat in the hat. Lead by Instructor Michelle Mohr, campers will do Dr. Seuss-related activities each day, including a Seuss-style story of their own imagination.
The camp will meet from 9 a.m. – noon, Monday, June 27 – Wednesday, June 29 at the Murphy-Wall Pinckneyville Campus, Room 101. Camp costs $45 per student.
Grade level applies to either past or upcoming grade. Payments may be made by check, money order, credit or debit cards, or cash, and must be received at the time of registration. Parents and guardians are responsible for all transportation arrangements to and from camp.
