Rend Lake College is excited to announce yet another in a growing list of program articulation agreements between RLC and partner four-year institutions.
Effective Oct. 17, 2017, RLC students interested in pursuing a degree in history will have a seamless path to transfer to Southern Illinois University Carbondale to complete their bachelor’s degree.
The articulation agreement allows students to complete an associate of arts degree in history and transfer seamlessly to SIUC’s History program provided they have successfully completed the agreed upon coursework as part of their associate degree.
“The recent articulation agreement between Rend Lake College and SIU mitigates the possibility of our transfer students having to take courses that are either redundant or unnecessary for their specific major after transferring. By implementing this agreement, we not only eliminate that possible roadblock, we also potentially save our students thousands of dollars in the process,” said RLC History Associate Professor Nathan Brouwer.
“The agreement is a win-win for both Rend Lake College and SIU. At RLC, we strive to make our students’ transfers as smooth as possible and this articulation agreement achieves this while also building on the great relationship we already have with the History Department at SIU.”
This new articulation agreement joins 11 other articulation agreements with Carbondale and 27 total agreements with 11 different four-year institutions.
